Crosstown Parkway Bridge Extension Grand Opening and Community Block Party – Sept 28, 2019
Port St Lucie’s big news this month was the Grand Opening of the Crosstown Extension over the North Fork of the St Lucie River to connect to US#1. After 40 years in the planning stages and 2 years construction it was opened after a wonderful community block party.
There are still some finishing touches to be done at the Crosstown / US #1 intersection and a few other smaller areas. The Crosstown Plaza Park is also still being completed and will be a small park along the St Lucie River with green areas, walkways, Kayak launch, gazebo and parking.
The 4 monuments (2 at each end of the bridge) are a huge success with beautiful artwork by Guy Harvey and made of Italian tile.
