The long-awaited Crosstown Parkway extension was completed in 2019 and is the 3rd main road to cross the river to the eastern area of Port St Lucie. It is the first “Superstreet” in Florida that has been 20 years in the planning stages for the City of Port St Lucie. Planners are very happy that it will have very little impact on the St Lucie River and it’s fragile ecosystem. It has been successful in carrying major traffic east / west and has substantially relieved traffic on the surrounding area residential streets as well as Port St Lucie Blvd and Prima Vista Blvd which carried all that traffic before the Crosstown was completed.
Gated Lakefront Homes – St Lucie West
Port St Lucie’s Inland communities offer many opportunities for lakefront homes, also in gated developments that offer extra security.
General Development Company planned Port St Lucie originally and set up a community with about 80,000 lots that are not in subdivisions or gated areas. There are various neighborhood parks throughout the area offering many options for softball fields, playgrounds, dog parks and open areas.
St Lucie West is located in the northwest area of Port St Lucie and was planned by a different developer than General Development who set up villages that offered more diverse housing options and gated security. These subdivisions have more lakes and greenbelt areas as well.
Tradition
is a Town within Port St Lucie that is comprised of approximately 2,500 residential homes on over 8,300 acres of land featuring homes, abundant parks and green belts, and lakefront properties in just about every neighborhood.
