Crosstown Parkway Extension Grand Opening and Community Block Party

Grand Opening Celebration of the Crosstown Parkway had lots of residents out to view the new road and meet with friends. It was a busy time from 9 am until 2 pm as people walked the new road, road their bikes and scooters before the road officially opened at 4 pm.
There was a presentation by Mayor Oravec thanking the many people that have been involved over the years to bring this improvement to completion, and official ribbon cutting was held at 10:30.
There was the band Caribbean Chillers providing entertainment, food trucks, a covered tent to provide tables and shade for eating and listening to the music, 3 large bounce houses for the Kids Zone, some booths from various city and county organizations, several area home builders and other businesses with booths.
Some of the landscaping around the roadway like monument palm tree tiers, park area around them, and kayak launch are not completed yet, but won’t take long to finish.
Many area residents will be utilizing this new roadway to alleviate traffic from Port St Lucie Blvd and Prima Vista and also Floresta Rd (which is also planned for improvements in 2020.
