Financing News

Mortgage rates continued to drop to 3.82% for 30 year fixed rate loans as of the June 6th weekly Freddie Mac PMMS Survey, mostly based on fears of trade tariffs with Mexico.
As of June 13th, rates were mostly unchanged from last week due to easing of trade tensions with Mexico which helped stabilize markets –
- 3.82% (with 0.6 point) for 30 – yr FRM
- 3.26% (with 0.5 point) for 15 yr FRM and
- 3.51 (with 0.4 point) for 5/1 ARM.
These historically low rates should provide continued opportunities for current homeowners to refinance their mortgages – which combined with new home buyer activity – will help sustain the momentum in the housing market in 2019.
